Camp lifeguard on duty on the lake at Canadian Adventure Camp

Number One Priority

Ensuring the highest safety standards

We are continually updating our equipment as well as training our staff in the most recent and evidence based instructional and safety techniques. All staff are first-aid trained, and all our counsellors are at minimum certified Bronze Cross Lifesaving Society lifeguards. All coaches are certified in their respective disciplines.

We pride ourselves on our mature and adult staff. All staff are a minimum of 19 years old with the exception of our junior staff who are 18 years old, have completed our leadership training, and work alongside our more experienced staff.

Our responsible staff and small staff-to-camper ratio enables us to have constant and appropriate supervision of campers at all times.

Full-time Doctor and Medical Staff in residence

Equipped with Medical facility on-site

Having a doctor at camp full time means we can treat any minor injuries or illnesses on site. Prescriptions that may be needed can be issued by our doctor.

Our doctors are Dr. Emily Baker, Dr. Ken Lee, Dr. Davina Lansing and Dr. Cher Culic. All have a combination of being either Alumni themselves or previous summers in their role. Most have their own children attending CAC this summer.

In an event of an emergency, we have full access to metropolitan hospitals in North Bay, New Liskeard and Sudbury that service Northern Ontario.

We will always inform families of any needed medical care should we be advised to do so by our Doctors.

What our parents say...

  • Having medical staff always on site means that small accidents never become emergencies. I do not have to worry about her safety, and she does not have to worry about her own safety.
